Water Heaters For Heating Water
Water Heaters come in many different sizes and types. The most common is the 38,000 BTU 40USGallon water heater. The second most common is the 50USGallon. Both will work for heating your domestic water and for heating the water for your radiant heating. Many times I have heard that a water heater is as good as a boiler, but I disagree.
If you are going to use a water heater then you should use a high efficiency water heater. This is one of the ways to save energy. Giving you energy savings that will pay for the water heater over the years. The one that I recommend the most is from State water heaters. The price including installation is about the same as the price for a tankless water heater. The difference being that a tankless water heater is only 80-81% efficient, while the State water heater is 90% efficient.
Also if you have more than three people living in your home and depending how cold your winters get you may need to use a storage tank with your tankless water heater, or install two water heaters in series. With the State Water Heater you get an energy saving water heater with more hot water ready to be used. There are other water heaters that will do the same as the State Water Heater, but at double the price.
