Plumbing fixtures
Plumbing fixtures are a very necessary part of our lives. Can you imagine having to get up in the morning and running outside to the outhouse? Well before toilets became an everyday household item that is exactly what you had to be done. Products range the from the bare necessity to the very posh. Many toilet come in a standard size and are generally white. Of course you can get different colors and sizes, but this will dramatically increase the price.
Other fixtures in a home are water heaters, tankless water heaters, faucets, bathroom sinks, kitchen sinks, bar sinks, shower, bath tub, shower/bath faucet, floor drain, laundry and laundry tub, and the dishwasher. There is others but these are the most common.
Many of these fixtures are relatively easy to install and can be changed at a later date if you have that need. Only the bath tub, shower, bath/shower faucets need to be installed in the rough plumbing stage. All of the rest can be installed in the finish stage of the home.
The purpose of most plumbing fixtures is to supply fresh water for cleaning, drinking, cooking, washing and carrying human waste. For this the plumber has to install the fixtures as to keep the water on the inside of the fixture or inside of the pipe and to keep those fixtures and pipes leak free for years to come.
The purpose of other plumbing fixtures is to add luxury to our lives. Fixtures such as an instant hot water dispenser, ice maker, coffee makers, bidets, infloor heat, steam shower or steam bath, dog washes, irrigation systems or automatic watering systems, and water softeners to name a few.
The role of the plumber is to install rough plumbing for the fixtures, then install the fixtures, and then service the fixtures to keep them running for a long time.
