Faucets

Faucets come in many different makes and models. Older styles have two handles made of chrome or acrylic. Newer styles are single lever and made of chrome, brass or brushed nickel.

Bathroom Faucets

The faucet in your bathroom is usually 4 inch centers with one or two handles. Other faucets will be meant for a single hole sink, or a sink with 3 holes having eight inch centers. The eight inch center faucets will have the faucet under the sink and only the handles and the spout showing at the top of the sink. The faucets meant for one hole or eight inch centers are much more expensive than your standard 4 inch center faucet. Faucets used to come with flow rates of up to 5 gallons per minute. All faucets are now required to have flow rates of at least 2.5 gallons per minute or less. The aerator is the part that controls the flow. These can be changed out to give flow rates of 2.2 gallons per minute, 2.0 gallons per minute, 1.5 gallons per minute and 1 gallon per minute. The slower flow rates really do not cause for discomfort when washing or brushing your teeth. But can significantly reduce the amount of water used in your home. A $5.00 aerator can pay for itself in 1-3 months depending on usage.

Kitchen Faucets

New kitchen faucets can add use and decoration to any kitchen. Most that I have installed are either single hole or 3 holes with eight inch centers. Some styles will have a vegetable sprayer on the side of the faucet, but the in style is to have a faucet with a pull out handle that will have a spray function on the head. By pushing the button you can change from a stream to a spray and back. This gives you all your choices right in one head.
